By Nathan Parks, kalin@elysian.net.How do i feel?
What do i think?
What should i know?
They tell me.
Who should i be?
What should i say?
What should i see?
They decide for me.
The time has come; it's gone too far
I'm in the dark now
I'm not allowed to see for myself
They say that this is a democracy
A country where all are equal
Well, some ARE more equal than others
How can they decide for us?
They don't understand us, but
They label us in the outside world
We're allowed to be labeled, to label, out here
Down there is a place where i can speak my mind
Where i'm not 17, or male, or "just a kid"
Here i'm an equal; everyone's truly equal
I can be anyone; i can do anything
I can learn what i want to learn
But i'm afraid to look anymore - because
They can take it away so quickly, easily - and
I'm too young to lose my identity;
I'm too young to let them murder me...
